Details of the Incident:

A call to Haines Police was received at 12:44pm reporting an avalanche burial of a 34-year-old male. A companion rescue was performed and the victim was recovered in 7-8 minutes. CPR was performed on-site. He did not survive his injuries. Haines Search and Rescue, Police, Fire Department, and Alaska State Troopers responded and transported the victim via private helicopter. This accident is still under investigation. This page will be updated with more details as they come in.
