Weather

Previous northerly winds hammered the upper mountains. The last 5 days brought a foot of snow, with 6 inches falling Sunday. Moderate wind loaded western aspects. This top heavy snow created some loose snow activity, but has otherwise shown stability. Light snow lingered into Tuesday as northerly outflow winds moved in.

Expect dry weather through the weekend. Moderate to strong northerly winds will persist into Thursday. This will move snow and the avalanche hazard towards southerly aspects. Sunshine will also bring increasing heat to southern slopes. Backcountry users should be wary of isolated wind slabs and steep sun baked southern slopes.
