General Observations
On Saturday February 9th my friend and I hiked up the north face of Mt Ripinski in the Lutak zone. We Triggered a few loose snow sluffs that were 15 cm’s deep. My friend triggered a deeper 35 cm sluff that didn’t propagate or slab. These sluffs were triggered in chutes that were 35-45 degrees slope angle. R1-D1 is what I classify it as but the sluffs could of possibly injured a person badly from trauma. the upper layer of the snow pack is faceted and I think that’s why we experienced the loose snow sluffs. Other than the sluffs the snow was great and the snow pack felt stable deeper. I enjoyed the snowboarding
