Recent Weather

After a long dry windy spell, most of the previous available loose snow sublimated back into the atmosphere. Wednesday brought up to 5 inches of snow with moderate wind loading western aspects. This new snow may be slow to bond to our old snowpack.

Thursday looks to bring increasing sunshine and warm temperatures. Avalanche activity is probable at tree line and above as daytime temperatures increase, but will be limited to the new snow. Otherwise, the avalanche hazard should decrease through the weekend.
