Recent Weather

We had a couple of snow events in the last week bringing 18 inches of dry, light snow above 500 feet. Moderate variable and eventually strong northerly winds moved this snow around dramatically. Much snow sublimated into the atmosphere, while the rest fell in protected leeward features.

Expect mostly benign weather through the weekend. The avalanche hazard should continue to slowly decrease. Backcountry users should be wary of isolated wind slabs and sluffs on steep leeward slopes.
