A strong storm is upon us through Monday. Weather models suggest 2 to 3 inches of water with temperatures rising. Wind will blow strong from the east. The big question is how fast and how high the freezing line climbs. Some avalanches will probably occur in the upper mountains, but are not expected to affect the highway. Backcountry users should avoid steep loaded slopes and large paths. The hazard should start to decrease Tuesday.
