The avalanche hazard may increase later in the week.

Weather

Last week we received over 6 inches of water, with the freezing line fluctuating mostly between 1000 and 3000 feet and moderate wind loading western aspects. This translated into several feet of snow on wind loaded slopes near the peaks. Avalanche activity occurred at tree line and above. Cold dry weather has since promoted snowpack stability.

Expect dry cool weather into Tuesday. Backcountry users should be wary of wind slabs above tree line. Models suggest 3 inches of water in the latter half of the week. The avalanche hazard may increase then.
